No More Secrets

Everybody has secrets.

It is but natural for us to broadcast the good things that happen to us or the great things we do. No one keeps a victory, an accomplishment, a success story, or an amazing testimony hidden under the rug. Rather they are proclaimed, published, often advertised, and proudly expressed in the open square so that every eye can see and every ear can hear. In the public-approval driven world we live in, that’s a fact.

It is then safe to assume that most, if not all secrets are bad things that we have done or is continuing to do. Whether they are past memories, current insecurities, hidden sins and wickedness, evil motives and practices, or embarrassing experiences, secrets are meant to hide the unacceptable from all eyes. Secrets are meant to mask our inadequacies and filth under the rug. Secrets are kept in a locked room where only we have the key. A room that is only opened when we have more secrets to stock up. In the selfish and privacy-protective world we live in, that’s also a fact.

However, there is a day coming when all secrets will be exposed unto all men. The Bright Light will shine in every dark place and there will be a great exposure. There will be no more secrecy, no more privacy (Luke 12:2).

All rooms will be opened. No stones will be left unturned. No trees will be left unshaken.

Secret sins will be exposed. Wickedness will be punished. Motives will be weighed and judged.

There is a separation coming between the wheat and the tares (Matthew 13:30). Between the wise and the foolish (Matthew 25:10). Between the sheep and the goats (Matthew 25:32). Between the fruitful branch and the barren branch (John 15:2,6). Between the faithful servant and the wicked servant (Matthew 25:21, 26-30). Between the righteous and the ungodly (Psalm 1:4-6). This will be an eternal separation.

Whether you believe it or not. Whether you like it or despise it, the day of revelation is coming, either in the snap of death or in the soon coming of our Lord. There’s no time to be comfortable in your secret lives. Whether we call ourselves a Christian or not, this question is for everybody. We have to make a decision today: do you want to live in freedom and openness or do you want to live in hiding, guilt, and bondage?

I know of someone who can set you free and His Name is Jesus. He is the Answer for you today! Will you let Him set you free? Will you make Him your Master too? Keep in mind, we can never be sure of tomorrow because tomorrow can never come. God loves us so much that He has made a way for us to come back to Him and not perish. He loves us so much that He has given us warnings today. The question is, Will we heed to the warning today and take the Answer because tomorrow might be our day of revelation? A day of no more secrets.

“And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.’ For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:9-10

Oh by the way, we can only have secrets before men but not in God’s eyes.
